The crew will be at the New Egypt Flea Market on Saturday November the 21st selling a lot of good modified parts. There will be some good deals to be had. Sort of sounds like the last post. Those who were at Grandview know about the great deals. The car is sold, it went out the garage door last night. The motor is still for sale. If anyone out there is looking for a good big block, without having to mortgage their house to get it, look up the guys at New Eygpt or leave a comment on here.

The crew will be at the Grandview Flea Market on Sunday November the 15th selling a lot of good modified parts. There will be some good deals to be had. I might just go along to see who and what are there.

Just the fact that I’m writing this on Sunday afternoon should tell you something. We started the weekend out in a big hole with a draw of 95 putting Shawn last in his heat. We had steering problems all day, and even changed out the power steering pump to no avail. With the car not turning Shawn couldn’t race into the turns. The long day ended with finishing last in the consi and towing home very late last night. We are done racing as far as I know.

I’ll make this short tonight. Shawn started 5th in the 6th heat and the car had a bad push. Not helping things both rear tires were going flat so he finished in the back of his heat. We worked on the car but with a starting spot of 9th in consi number 3 with 2 to qualify it wasn’t looking to good to get in. There were 5 track champions in the consi so it was a bit stacked. The car was running better and Shawn was up the 5th at one time but that was it, ran out of laps. 70 Modifieds in the pits, 27 cars started the feature. There was some real good side by side racing that went on, but there were also a lot of yellows and two red flags one for a car rolled and landed on it’s wheels and one for a fuel stop because of the yellows. We learned a little to get us faster for Hagerstown, hope to see ya all there.

The Sitler Kline Race Team will travel North to Five Mile Point for the Short Track SuperNationals and South to Hagerstown Speedway for the Octoberfest 350. Shawn Reimert will replace Kevin Hartnett behind the wheel of the Generation II Construction, Kline Motorsports 55 Big Block Modified for both races. Kevin informed us two weeks ago, because of personal reasons, he could not drive the 55 the remainder of the year. He also wanted to give us time to find a replacement for the Diamond Nationals at Big Diamond. The Team called Shawn and he was set to drive the car at the Diamond Nationals, however they rained out. The crew at SKR wishes Kevin and Tara the best.

    When I first saw that Penn Can Speedway was going up against Hagerstown Speedway’s Octoberfest, I said “they must be nuts”. But, then I got to thinkig about it, it’s a win win for Penn Can. If even 5 or 6 off the big teams skip Hagerstown and go to Penn Can they have a good field of cars and a great show for the people. If the big teams skip Penn Can and go to Hagerstown, then they still will have at least a full field of cars and one of their own most likely wins the King of the Can, not an outsider, Penn Can wins either way. Of course there is the best of both worlds and that would be if the big name teams go to Penn Can and one of their own wins the King of the Can. This could happen as there are some very good drivers at Penn Can and it’s a very hard track to get hold of.

    RoC on the other hand could be hurt next year if these guys that have supported them all year have to give up the Octoberfest 350. They may decide not to support RoC next year in fear of the same thing happening with other events. That could happen, but I think it’s unlikely.

    I would think race teams in the RoC point battle are better off at Penn Can money wise. Less distance to travel for most, don’t need a hotel room for two day show, and less cost all around. Except for first place the payout is about the same and when you throw in RoC point money maybe more.

    Hagerstown could care less, would be my guess, four classes of cars two days of racing they will have plenty of cars and fans and it’s not like they are right next to each other. There might even be cars go to Hagerstown, that would of stayed home, if it looks like some of the bigger teams are headed to Penn Can.

    And at the very least, you never know with weather like this years, it could rain at one of the tracks and not the other and the teams and fans will still have some place to go. So it could be a win win for the race teams and fans also.

I didn’t go in the pits ($40 a bit much) so I got to see a race from the stand for once. Kevin didn’t get the 88 into the show. I didn’t get to talk to him but it looked like the front of the car had something wrong it would drop going into the corner and just stay there. At first it looked like the right front shock broke but I don’t think that was it. I felt bad for the 81 team, must of drew the last pill, Terry did a good job and had the car coming to the front in the minuteman and it looked like he would make the show but got a left front flat. Shawn was flat out flying in the 58s and won his heat and then went on to win the cash dash. He was driving a smart race in the main event and working his way forward when out of the blue a car inside of him went flying into the air and came down on the left front corner of his car. He was done for the night. There was some real good racing but from that point on I didn’t really have anyone to cheer on.

    When the 2009 race season comes to an end, another end will be taking place. Sitler Kline Racing will discontinue race operations at the end of the 2009 race season. After nearly four decades of racing car owner Tom Sitler said “it’s time” (to get out of racing). Dave Kline, Kline Motorsports and Mark Luchi, Generation II Construction long time partners with Tom in the race team are ready to follow his lead. The partnership has work well over the years. Bob Smith, Ryan Bloom, Dennis Bailey, Shawn Reimert, and Kevin Hartnett are among the driver who drove the 00/55. The Team raced at tracks in Pennsylvania, New York, Delaware, and Maryland. Their first win came in 1996 when Ryan Bloom won at Big Diamond Raceway in the 00. In 2005 the Team won 10 of 14 races and the Track Championship at Central Pa Speedway with Shawn Reimert in the 55. Their last win came in July of this year at Redline Raceway with Kevin Hartnett behind the wheel of the 55.
    The Team will travel to Big Diamond Raceway on September 26th for one last time with the Generation II Construction, Kline Motorsports 55 Big Block Modified to enter the Diamond Nationals. If all goes well at Big Diamond they may venture North to Five Mile Point Speedway for the Short Track SuperNationals on October 10th.
    I’m sure it will be a shock to these guys system to not be getting a car ready after doing it for so many years. I wish them well in all their endeavors. The Sitler Kline Racing Web Site will go off line the end of October. This Blog however will stay online as it is not based on the 50 meg server.

Kevin has informed me he plans on taking the 88 to Grandview Speedway Saturday night for the BPG Racing Freadom 76 race. Although he still is working some of the bugs out and needs to get the motor back together he says he should be able to make it down to give it a try. I’m hoping to make it down if I don’t get stuck at work, so there should be a update Sunday morning. See ya at the track… RAINED OUT
