Penn Can Speedway Friday July 24th…

July 25, 2009

It’s going to be short tonight as I got to be to work tomorrow and it is late. Kevin started 6th in the heat and finished 6th with 5 to qualify. He started 3rd in the Consi and ended up 5th with 4 to qualify. Was a night of being one spot short. A lot of very good cars at Penn Can. It was a short night of racing and we will need to do some work to get the car working for that track. I think if we had the set up we started the year at Redline with we would have been better. We will work on it and go back at it next week. On a side note the feature went 30 laps none stop, a very good race. My first trip to Penn Can and I must say I was very Impressed. It was dusty but then it’s dirt track racing. You can get bubble goggles at the parts truck for $10. By the way, I priced them on the internet and they run from $10.50 to $12. People in the pits say they are a must have.

Car ready for Penn Can Speedway

July 23, 2009

A lot of work went on over at the garage this week to get the car ready for this coming Friday nights action at Penn Can Speedway. Most of the work was getting the exhaust changed around to meet Penn Can rules. Other minor changes were made and the car was scaled once again tonight. Now if the weather holds it should be an exciting night of racing. Hope to see you all at the track…

Tentative plans for the remainder of the 2009 race season

July 18, 2009

Penn Can Speedway is the tentative home for the Sitler Kline Racing 55 Modified Race Team on Friday nights. The crew is in the process of making the minor changes needed to bring the Generation II Construction, Kline Motorsports 55 Big Block Modified into compliance with Penn Can Speedway rules. Driver Kevin Hartnett is excited to be competing against the high caliper of drivers currently racing at the speedway. The Team is also planning on running a few of the end of year shows at tracks in Eastern PA and Southern NY. When those plans are final they will be added to the schedule on the Sitler Kline Racing Web Site. Hope to see all our fans at Penn Can Speedway this coming Friday night.

Word coming soon on the remainder of 2009…

July 17, 2009

The owners of the Generation II Construction Kline Motorsports 55 Big Block Modified are in consultation with Kevin Hartnett on plans for the remainder of the 2009 season. Once those plans are final I will post here.

Redline Raceway pulls plug on Racers

July 16, 2009

According to the Redline Raceway web site they will be closed until further notice. This out of the blue announcement is a surprise to just about everyone who raced at the track. With fan counts up and car counts up it is hard to understand why this is happening at this time. I would hope the owners would explain what is going on in the near future. At this time I have no word on where the 55 Team will race for the rest of the year. All I can say is stay tuned and I’ll try and get all our fans some info soon.

Hartnett Wins at Redline Raceway July 10th

July 11, 2009

Kevin Hartnett drove the Generation II Construction Kline Motorsports 55 Big Block Modified to victory Friday night at Redline Raceway. Kevin started 5th in his heat race and finished 2nd in one of the five qualifying spots. He started 7th in the feature and quickly made his way into the 3rd spot. He battled the 19 of Brent Boyer for most of the race for the runner up spot. With the 3x of Chris Shupp pulling away it looked like the 55 and 19 would be fighting for the second spot. On lap 22 Kevin pulled under the 19 coming out of turn 2 and into second for the final time, while at the same time the 3x of Shupp slowed and pulled off into the infield giving up the lead. On lap 24 the 24x of Andrews spun bring out the yellow with one to go. On the restart Kevin pulled out to a two car lead and went on to capture his first win of the 2009 season.
