February Update…

February 28, 2009

We made a lot of progress on the car in the month of February. The paint is done and all the panels are back at the garage. The rear is finished. The driveshaft needs to go in, and the drive train will be finished. The brakes are about finished, we still need to get a few spacers made to get them aligned right. Word is the motor should be done soon. It’s looking like the car will be well on the way to being race ready by the end of March.

I’ve made a few changes to the web site, I tried to makes it a little easier to read the schedule. And as you can see there is a new SKR logo on the front page.

It’s a Sad Day

February 23, 2009

Kevin’s Mother Marian Hartnett passed away this morning after a long battle with cancer. In Tara’s e-mail to me she said anyone who knew Marian knew her as a caring, wonderful, and inspiring woman. How true those words are. Our thoughts and prayers are with Kevin, Tara and the Hartnett Family. Cards can be sent to the Hartnett Family at 910 Dogwood Lane, Hatfield, PA 19440

If only every dirt track had a DiamondDog…

February 15, 2009

If something is going on at Big Diamond Raceway, and you visit any local racing message board, you will most likely know about it. You may ask, do they have that good of a PR department. No, they have something better, they have DiamondDog. A race fan that is dedicated to the track he goes to every Friday night. A race fan who cares about HIS track. A race fan who cares about dirt track racing making it in the hard economic times of today. Yes sometimes he color coats it a little, I’d say as a fan he has that right. One thing you know is if DiamondDog is in the stands you will always hear about what’s going on at Big Diamond Raceway. If only every track had a DiamondDog in the stands to get the word out about dirt track racing. I know you are saying it’s the tracks job to promote and advertise not the fans. I agree, tracks should send out timely press releases, and advertise a lot more then they do. I feel however tracks resist posting because of all the negative posts on message boards. Where tracks have to defend against bad press a fan doesn’t. So when you get a chance, talk up your local track. Dirt track racing could use a few more DiamondDogs in the stands. That’s My Two Cents!

Redline Web Site back up…

February 6, 2009

Redline is working on getting their web site back up. The schedule, rules and Forum Link are back up and also a link to their MySpace Page. As far as what has been going on over at the garage. The front end is under the car and finished except for the brakes. The rear is under the car but needs some more work. The white body panels are at the Vo-Tech School getting painted. The red panels still need some cleaning and sanding before they go off to Patriot Metals for painting. The seat and fuel cell are also in. Still a lot of work, if you go to my MySpace page it has a count down until the drop of the green flag. Look for a few more in work photo’s soon. The poll below was a little surprising, I figured Big Diamond would come in first but wasn’t figuring on Accord as second. There were 2 write-ins for Grandview in the comments also. It’s about time for another My Two Cents so keep checking back.
