As the 2008 race year ends, it’s going to be hard not to “what if” the year to death. I hope we use what we learned this year to come back stronger in 2009. We had a lot of great races, and we had some that didn’t turn out as hoped. But anyone who has been around racing very long knows that things like that happen. You’re going to get hit from time to time, things are going to break. Some say you need luck on your side to win, you need yo be lucky. I always say, I’ll take skill and knowledge over luck any day. Yes the lucky guy beats you a lot of nights. When you win one because you were lucky just isn’t quite as good as winning one because you were the best car out there that night. In 2008 Kevin ran 14 races, at Redline Raceway. In those 14 races he had 5 top 5’s and in 9 of those 14 races he finished 9th or higher. 2008 was a good year, yes it could of been better, but it also could of been a lot worse.

What If…
September 8, 2008Friday Sept. 5th Redline Raceway
September 6, 2008You know the old saying sometimes you’re the windshield sometimes you’re the bug. While last week we was the windshield, this week we were the bugs. Kevin started second in his heat and finished second after dropping as far back as fifth. He started 4th in the feature and it looked like everything was going well when he started to slow. Then the car started to shut off and finally wouldn’t run at all. After looking it over in the pits we found the Mag had managed to somehow spin. Looks like the third week jinx hit again. That’s it for racing this year, when I know for sure what’s up with next year I will be sure and post it. Have a safe winter.
