What started out as a fairly good night ended once again with a trashed car. Kevin started 6th in his heat and finished 3rd of the four to qualify. The car was running good in the heat. He started 10th in the feature and lost one spot on the start when the 83 also got hit by whoever was inside of him and didn’t go stacking up the outside row. There seems to be a lot of game playing on the starts, with drivers braking and pushing the outside car up the track. After two yellows Kevin was still in eleventh. On lap 4 the third yellow of the night came out for a multi-car crash right in front of the flag stand. Kevin got slowed and stopped before someone (a white car) piled into the back at speed. The race was RED FLAGGED and when the dust cleared and the cars pulled away one lone car set waiting for the tow truck. We worked on the car but the right front shock tower was ripped off and we called it a night. It was a full moon night of racing is all I got to say. The car will need some work this week but we will be back on the 1st of August going for win number two.

July 12, 2008I missed a race for the first time in 5 years, so what I have this week is all hear say. Kevin got qualified in the heat with the right rear tire going flat, putting him in the tenth starting spot for the feature. He missed the early wrecks and made his way all the way up to second before getting around and bring out the yellow. He restarted in the rear and charged forward making it up to 9th by the time the checkered flag flew. The car isn’t laying over like it should, so we need to go over the set up this week and figure out what is causing the problem. From what I hear over all the car looked very strong and did a lot of passing throughout the night. I’ll close this week with a big congratulation to my daughter Lori who will be getting married today at noon and wish her and Adam a long and happy life together.
