Friday May 30th Redline Raceway

May 31, 2008

Kevin started third in his heat race and won. 24 modified’s took to the track in a yellow flag filled feature. Kevin started third and got bounced around and back to sixth. He started back forward after things settled down a bit. He passed the 16M of Schane for fifth and was putting pressure on the CAT9 of Harris when the CAT9 got into the 77 of Butch Cerullo resulting in the 77 going pit side and the CAT9 going to the rear. Kevin restarted in third and passed the 71 coming out of turn 2 for 2nd. One the next lap the 71 spun in turn 2 bringing out another yellow. They then went green-white-checkered because of the 30 minute time limit. So we ended second to the 412 of Aaron Jacobus with a bit of body damage but the car looking real strong. Track conditions were very poor with dust making it almost impossible to see anything. I’m writing this at 3AM so as you can see it was another very long night.

Friday May 23rd Redline Raceway

May 24, 2008

I’ll start out with it was not a good night Friday night. The night started out ok, Kevin looked good in the heat finishing second in heat number two. The car was strong and was moving forward the whole race. The feature was a heads up start which put Kevin in fifth. As the green flag flew to start the race the 30 who started along side in sixth place, ran out of talent, as Rusty Wallace would say. He bounced off the wall coming out of turn four and came down across the track and slammed into our right rear wheel. The hard impact snapped the rear at the bell, bent the shock, bent the axle and a few other parts. Needless to say we got a lot of work to do this week to get the car back on the track.

May 2nd 2008

May 4, 2008

Week one is in the books. Redline had a very strong field of Modifieds with 23 cars in the pits. Kevin finished 3rd in the first heat, he was still having problems with the front brakes. He was scheduled to start 7th but moved up to 5th when the 119 failed to make the start. After numerous yellows for single car spins in the back of the pack things got moving. Kevin was moving forward and had made it up into the third spot by the 6th or 7th yellow. On the restart he dove under the 77 of Butch Cerullo going into turn one, while going through turn two his right rear went over the top of the 77’s left front bringing out another yellow. Kevin was sent to the rear for making contact. From that point he slowly moved forward and made it up to 9th by the time the checkered flag flew. The car was fast and it looks like the brake problem is fixed.
